Easy to use converter
I use this to convert video files that I can’t open to ones that I can then view. It is really easy. If I can do it anyone can.
Takes my AVCHD files from the FS700 and outputs ProRes 422 in all flavours, plus DNxHD, etc. Fast & reliable. Why Sony doesn’t buy/license this software to package with their $9K camera is a mystery!

Worked perfectly. Drag and drop the AVCHD, select your desired “output”, review files, see thumbnails, the file select or de-select feature is great…hit ”CONVERT”, done… Easy! Worth every penny in my opinion.
The key is to choose the correct output format. I chose the wrong output format, the conversion didn’t work, nothing was lost so I made another selection. Wrong again. I stopped and thought about what I was trying to do, made another selection and the conversion executed without a problem. So simple. So effective. I use the software to convert movies made with Sony NEX-5N and 5T to play on my iMac.
After searching for many video converters from AVCHD to Pro video formats, I’ve found this App is for far the best by price and all the different codecs they have. If you use a Sony or Canon cameras this is your way to go to speed up your workflow before you send everything to Final Cut.
I bought this app to try and convert AVCHD to m4v because it says it can do that. But the rewrap function always fails and says “Finished 1 Error !!!” This was a complete waste of money for me so far unless the developer can tell me how to solve this problem

Given that I have two cameras that shoot to this file format, having a tool of this nature that is dependable and gives control to the types of the output is very important. I have tried a number of converters and this is the best out there that I have used so far. It has choices galore, turns out high quality video files and is reasonably priced for all the features it has. This one is well worth the price of admission.
I recently needed to convert an AVCHD File to .mov format. However, I was unable to open the AVCHD file in multiple applications. As such, I decided to use a converter that could handle the MTS conversion. I tried several applications, and even bought one. None of them were able to handle the conversion. My last ditch effort was Free AVCHD to MOV. This application handled the conversion, without flaw. The user interface is easy to navigate. The presets are clearly labeled, and understandable. and it utilizes all of the processors to do the conversion. Nine 4GB files @ 1920 X 1080, in under 1/2 an hour! Support this developer, and do yourself a favor. Buy this app!

Excellent App!
This app does its job as advertised. I got out my 10 year old Lumix FZ1000 to film my grandson’s basketball games. It was high tech when I bought it… but I couldn’t upload the files onto my iMac anymore! I was so frustrated until I got the full version of this app… now I upload the videos in a snap and then put together for good quality videos for him to watch and share with his friends. Score one for grandpa thanks to this app!
Saves time and bails Panasonic out
Panasonnic thinks all of us can actually see the videos on our laptops, but we can't without conversion like the Sony Betamax used to be. But this software is fast and bails them out!

A Quailty Application
Anymore, it is tough to know whether something is worth the cost. Well, don't worry about this one, this app works just fine. I use it with my Lumix LX-5 often and have never had a failure to convert of any kind. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Great App - So Long As Updates are Released
This app has been a great help, to quickly convert my Sony AVCHD files to MOV for editing and publishing. I send my sincere appreciation to the developer/s. Please, though, keep the app updated with iOS and MAC updates. For a breif period, the app quit working. However, an update was released that allowed the app to work again. Keep the updates coming!!!! -I highly recommend this app, to those using AVCHD devices!-
A very nice conversion result!
There are builds of FCP that will pull in the AVCHD footage from my Sony camcorder - and then there are builds that won't. Using MacOS Mojavi, FCP was able to see the footage and built a clip for it, but I could never use it. The video would never Import and the files would play without the audio track. This program solved the issue by allowing me to pick the AVCHD package and extract the 3 videos contained inside of it - then convert all 3 to a .MOV file that I can now use (with audio) in an FCP project.
Needs option to not auto-open videos when done!
I am a first time user and I’m uploading my B-roll shoot with about 200 clips. I now am having to close each video after one at a time until they all auto-open after finishing for the next hour. Can’t really use this app until then because the lack of this option. I’d appreciate a response from developer if possible. Thanks
Essential tool
Delivers clean conversions from my Sony CX900 AVCHD files and never gives me grief. Some of other apps should work so well. Wish I’d discovered sooner.
Bulk Export from AVCHD - Set It and Forget It
This is an extremely useful little app… While you can export mov files from Quicktime, you have to do it one clip at a time which is very time-consuming. What I love: 1. Export all videos from an AVCHD file at once 2. Maintains correct file dates of when the clips were originally created 3. A ton of export options What would have made this a 5 star review: 1. No way to easily pause or stop conversion 2. Export options need to be simplified for non-videoheads 3. Faster export

Another review mentioned no way to set to convert all. The “Convert” option in this version 2.06 works fine.

Easy as pie
Only challenge is to know where your AVCHD files are, but this is not an issue with the program at all. I just dragged the entire PRIVATE folder from my LUMIX camera into the app and it instantly and without fuzz translated all the videos into MOV files located in the Movies directory, but this is clearly indicated. Good quality of the translated files and in my opinion the process was as easy as it can be if you have to deal with the unfortunate AVCHD video file format. I am overall very well pleased. Thank you!

Got Premiere?
This app is missing a preset specifically for Premiere Pro editing. Not finding any specifically labeled for Premiere. Which is funny, because there are presets for FCP and Avid, the other 2 main pro NLEs. And especially since FCP X where there’s been a migration of producers to Premiere - this needs to be addressed. Conversions are glitchy in 1 app but not in another, so rolls ok in VLC or Mac Preview, but not in Premiere.

This is a very polished, robust app. I’ve used her software for many years. Never any surprises.
This stuff should be part of OS X.
This app allowed me to get some video footage off my camera that I thought I lost for good. It allowed me to complete a video project I was working on. I’m happy with it. This stuff should be native to the Mac and not part of an app.
Just get the free version instead!
I will be brief. I bought the free version and the files convert nicely. What I did not like was that you have to choose each file 1 at a time as the “SELECT ALL” is grayed out. I thought for $7.00 it was worth it to buy the full version. The “SELECT ALL” is STILL grayed out like the free version. There was quite LITERALLY NO CHANGE from the free version. If you have many files you will see how this can become annoying. Unless they fix this issue save your $7.00. Of course you HAVE NO WAY OF TELLING until after you buy it. It does convert the files well and there are TON of options but just get the free version instead WHICH DOES THE SAME THING. Thank me later.
Handy Tool - Grab It!
I use this tool for converting my panasonic GH2 (hacked) footage/files for editing in Fianl Cut Pro X. I need ProRes HQ and this gives me that and more. Simple to use and is Sierra Ready!!!! I’m going on about two years now….Great App!
